Bussiness Logos

Business logos are the way people see a business. They represent the entire business and how well known it is. In a recent survey, more than 6 out of 10 Americans ages 18-25 couldn't recognize Conel Sanders on the KFC logo. This probably represents a downfall in KFC's popularity. However it could be that KFC's logo just isn't very good. A good logo represents the company uniquely and has its name or at least initials. This makes the logo much easier to identify. A logo like Starbucks' or Harley Davidson is a good one.

Jobs: Can you get one?

This recession has caused many people to get laid of and has pushed unemployment to above 10%. The job rebound is likely to be slow. Some new forecasts suggest that the one year increase in jobs for the US as a whole will be about 1.1%. Throughout the US jobs are increasing, but in some states they seem to still be going down. Vermont, New Jersey, and Washington DC are all predicted to lose up to 1% more jobs. Most other states are beginning, to gain more jobs if not at least keep the number of jobs from dropping. In states like New Mexico and Texas jobs are predicted to go up by more than 2%. We may be turning around, but we still have a long way to go.

Traffic Deaths Low

Traffic deaths are at their lowest since 1950, the 60 year low. There have been many things that have contributed to this. Police are cracking down on drunk driving and bars are now enforcing the last call for drinks. People can report someone who seem to be drunk and police will go and check them out. The last call is when bars stop serving drinks an hour before they close. This is supposed to give the patrons some time to get sober. Designated drivers are also being used much more than they used to. California has its new cell phone law that prohibits people from using their phones while driving. There is also more enforcement on people who are texting while driving. All in all, this is probably a good thing, because despite the extra regulations, there are less accidents.

Food: The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly

This is one of the more random blogs that I have written so far. There are tons of foods out there, from fruits and veggies, to breads and noodles, to eggs and meats, and still to the desserts. There are all kinds of food that is good for you out there. Fruits like bananas have potassium and oranges have vitamin C. Fish has omega 3s and dark chocolate has antioxidants. Then there are the bad foods. All of the things that people love to eat are generally bad for you. French fries and fried chicken have lots of fat in them. Soda, ice cream, and cake have lots of sugar. Pastries and doughnuts have too many carbohydrates. And then there's the ugly. Some foods just don't look very edible. The varied parts of a cow and other farm animals: brain, tongue, heart, hoof, liver, stomach, and bladder. Some people eat Kopi Luwak, which is coffee beans that have been eaten and processed by a civet. Other people eat insects like ants, larvea, and grubs. Some even eat dangerous food like scorpions, spiders, and the death puffer fish.

Why Blog?

Why should we blog?  Well some people blog to share their opinions and try to sway people to what they believe. They think that what they believe is so great, and that you should think that it is great too. People can get really mad about stuff that happens to them or in the news and decide to blog in outrage. But I think that it's kind of ridiculous. Some do it because it's something to do. They don't have anything better to do, so they decide to blog. Yet others use it to share information, like a business. The business wants to be better known so the manager blogs about it. Many use it as a communication tool, to be able to talk to others about what has been happening in their life. Although nowadays, using facebook or myspace is generally easier. I however, am just doing this because it is a school assignment. As an assignment goes, this one is sort of enjoyable, so this shouldn't be too hard.

Colors Affect How I Deal With People

Colors can represent who we are. They can show how we feel, for example, red is related to anger and blue to sadness. I for one am a green. At least that's what http://www.truecolorstest.com/True_Colors_Test.shtml showed me. This means that I am intellectual and logical and like to be challenged. I also scored high in orange which means I am skillful, enjoy competition, and take a hands on approach to learning. If you're blue that means that you're good with people and have a kind, compassionate nature. Yellow means that you will do your duty and that you are punctual and dependable. There are many tests like this out there and they might use different colors or meanings of colors.
